Library

This September, we received over 80 books from a NYS grant. Many books also came from the Scholastic Book Fairs, courtesy of PASE. Also, $870 donation was made in the memory of Sally Ryan Hiltz. From that donation the library was able to purchase 70 additional books.

The Computer Program gives the students an opportunity to become familiar with the operation of a PC computer. They will become aware of computer technology in today’s society and its impact on their lives today.

K-4 – Psychomotor skills, hand-eye coordination, handling a mouse, distinguishing the alphabet via the keyboard, learning how to turn the computers on and off, and creative writing.

Grade 5 - Computer Literacy, history of computers, computer terminology, architecture of computers, introduction of the internet, use of software such as Microsoft Word and use of academic software across various areas of curricula.

Grades 6, 7, & 8 – Use of Microsoft programs, research based on curriculum, advanced keyboarding, using the internet, and use of academic software across various areas of curricula.

Please share your love of reading with your children. Encourage them to frequent both the school and public library.

The library program provides children with such skills as book care, quiet listening during story time, placement of books on a shelf, responsibility for borrowed books, and for quiet reading time.
